Calling for Yoga teachers and lovers of deeply restful Yoga practice to join Contemporary Yoga for a 4-day immersion into the art Restorative Yoga.

This essentials training is for teachers and practitioners new to, or with some experience of, Restorative Yoga practice. The course offers training in principles, fundamental postures, class planning, themes, anatomy, demonstrations, voice and touch practice unique to our Contemporary Yoga approach.

Participants will come away from this rich immersion course with new understandings and/or a revived understanding of the practice and teaching of Restorative Yoga.

Contemporary Yoga are excited to bring this training down south to our friends and community in Christchurch, Canterbury and the South Island. For those who wish to dive deep into Restorative Yoga in 2021, this 4-day training will be a perfect lead into to our full, in-depth 8-day Restorative Yoga teacher training offered in Auckland later in 2021.

Karla and Neal have a combined 35 years of experience teaching Restorative Yoga classes, courses, individuals and in retreat environments. They are known for their innovation and embodied approach.

Neal Ghoshal and Karla Brodie, Contemporary Yoga, Restorative Yoga Training

Karla Brodie

Karla is an experienced and qualified Yoga teacher. She is inspired to share the practice and philosophy of yoga in a simple, joyful, self renewing way. Her practical and intuitive approach leads students toward a deeper experiential understanding of breath, balanced posture and integrated movement. Karla has specialised in teaching restorative yoga for over 20 years.

The foundation of Karla’s teaching is within the Basic Neurocellular Patterns and the study of Body-Mind Centering. Embodying these self renewing patterns restores effortless breathing, ease, fluidity and cohesion in movement. Karla’s teachings, inspired by her teacher, friend and mentor Donna Farhi, offer a holistic approach to the art, science and practice of Yoga.
