Foundations of Movement 2019
with Karla Brodie, Neal Ghoshal and Dyana Wells
Two 4-Day Weekends
10-13 August AND 14-17 September
Each movement pattern will be investigated thoroughly to bring an authentic experience of integrated embodiment and a direct understanding of healthy body structure and movement.
Students will develop skill in teaching these principles, learning to develop and create inspiring language and sequencing. You will learn how to support your students into a more fluid and dynamic practice that is stable, easeful and balanced.
The patterns we will explore are:
- Cellular Breathing
- Navel Radiation
- Mouthing
- Pre-Spinal
- Spinal Yield and Push, Reach and Pull
- Homologous
- Homolateral
- Contralateral
We will also be engaging the support of the fluid body, organ support, nervous system support … all the other body systems … so that we learn how to move with great integration, fluid and easeful.
We will study the body organ systems to enrich our actual experience of embodiment and to also open the therapeutic potential of their investigations.
We will use the breath and other meditation practices to bring ourselves into a deeper experience of who we are.
These practices can be incorporated into yoga classes.
